In an article disseminated today, it has come to light that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has held the esteemed office since 2014, has not indulged in a single instance of leave-taking during his tenure. This revelation stems from an inquiry conducted under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, where two pivotal questions were probed.

The RTI query, tendered by Prafful P. Sarda, inquired about the quantum of days Prime Minister Modi has graced his office with his presence since his ascension to the role of India’s premier. Simultaneously, it sought detailed information regarding the extent of his participation in diverse events and functions during his incumbency.

The RTI application, dated 31st July 2023, received an unequivocal response from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), affirming, “The Prime Minister is on duty all the time. No leave has been availed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi since taking office.”

A cursory glance at the official PMO website reveals a staggering accumulation of over 3,000 events, spanning both domestic and international arenas, in the duration since Prime Minister Modi’s inauguration in May 2014.

The disclosure has elicited widespread attention, with Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, sharing the RTI document on the social media platform X, accompanied by the hashtag #MyPmMyPride.

It is worth noting that this is not the first instance of such revelation. A similar RTI inquiry conducted in December 2015 also confirmed Prime Minister Modi’s unwavering dedication to his responsibilities, as he refrained from any leave. This data pertains to his initial tenure as India’s leader.

Furthermore, in 2019, Union Home Minister Amit Shah attested to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unbroken work record, citing a remarkable absence of leave over two decades of public service.

As the information continues to circulate, it is apparent that Prime Minister Modi’s steadfast commitment to his role has garnered admiration not only within the nation but also beyond its borders. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, during a recent engagement with the Indian community in Bangkok, expressed his profound gratitude for having a leader of Prime Minister Modi’s stature at this critical juncture in the nation’s history.
