WASHINGTON: The Hindu American community in Washington DC marked the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya with a vibrant car rally in a suburb on Saturday. Members of the community gathered at the Shri Bhakta Anjaneya Temple on Ayodhya Way, near Frederick City, Maryland, initiating a month-long celebration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Mahendra Sapa, President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America DC chapter, expressed, “After 500 years of struggle by Hindus, Bhagwan Shri Ram Mandir is being inaugurated, and we are organizing a historic celebration in the Washington, DC area on January 20 next year. About 1,000 American Hindu families are expected to participate in the celebration, featuring Ram Leela, stories of Shri Ram, Hindu prayers, and devotional songs.”
The celebration aims to showcase the life of God Shri Ram through enactments by children of various ages, making it accessible for kids born in America. Local leaders highlighted the significance of this historic event for Hindu generations, urging them to become model citizens of American culture.
Co-organizer Premkumar Swaminathan, a local Tamil Hindu leader, extended invitations for the January 20th celebration in the USA and the actual inauguration in Ayodhya on January 22 next year. The event featured speeches in Kannada, Telugu, and other languages, emphasizing the global importance of Bhagawan Shri Ram.
The car rally organizers encouraged all devotees to celebrate the Ram Mandir inauguration in Ayodhya with an even larger car and motorbike rally. The Hindu American community is gearing up for a cultural extravaganza to commemorate this historic occasion.
