In response to a low-intensity blast near the Israel Embassy in Chanakyapuri, Delhi, security has been intensified in the vicinity and at other Jewish establishments across the national capital. The incident prompted multiple central agencies, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA), to launch investigations into the matter.

While no remnants of explosives were discovered near the embassy after a thorough search, a troubling discovery was made—a letter addressed to Israel’s ambassador containing abusive language. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of a “chemical explosion.”

Security agencies are meticulously examining CCTV footage from the area, with sources revealing the identification of two individuals walking near the site minutes before the reported blast. The investigative focus is on determining their potential involvement.

The abusive letter, found in English, has been sent for forensic analysis to trace fingerprints. The one-page communication mentions terms such as Zionists, Palestine, and Gaza. The letter claims affiliation with an organization called ‘Sir Allah Resistence.’

As a precautionary measure, the Israel National Security Council issued an advisory to Israelis in India, urging them to avoid crowded places frequented by Western or Jewish elements. Israel’s Deputy Ambassador to India assured the safety of embassy workers and diplomats, acknowledging the possibility of an attack.

The advisory specifically recommends steering clear of crowded venues, malls, and markets, emphasizing caution at events with a high number of participants.

Despite conflicting reports on whether it was a blast or a chemical explosion, heightened security measures remain in place. The Delhi Police received a call reporting the blast on December 26, triggering an extensive search that led to the discovery of the aforementioned letter. While authorities have yet to confirm the nature of the incident, a security guard near the embassy reported hearing a loud sound accompanied by smoke.
