Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chief, S Somanath, has revealed that while India possesses the capacity to explore the Moon, Mars, and Venus, there exists a pressing requirement for increased investment to further develop the nation’s space sector. Addressing the plans for ISRO’s future endeavors, Somanath emphasized the significance of boosting confidence and enhancing investment to realize India’s potential in space exploration.

Somanath stated, “India has the capability to travel to the Moon, Mars and Venus but we need to increase our confidence. We need more investment and the space sector must develop and by this, the whole nation should develop, that is our mission.”He further acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s long-term vision for the country’s space sector, affirming ISRO’s readiness to execute the vision.

Somanath’s remarks reflect ISRO’s aspiration to elevate India’s presence in the space domain through strategic investments and technological advancements. The recent success of Chandrayaan-3’s lunar landing underscores India’s space achievements, while the call for increased investment seeks to propel the country’s capabilities to greater heights.
