In the midst of the intensified preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, political parties are engaging in rallies, striking back at opponents, and initiating a series of political twists. Recently, Prime Minister Modi launched the ‘Modi’s Family’ campaign, prompting a sharp response from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo, Lalu Yadav.

The BJP has been actively promoting the ‘Modi’s Family’ campaign, with ministers and key leaders branding themselves as part of Modi’s family on social media platforms. Chants and slogans resonating with this theme have become commonplace in election rallies. This campaign gained momentum following a comment from Lalu Yadav, prompting a barrage of statements from the entire BJP camp.

Responding to the controversy, Lalu Yadav, in an interview with ANI, stated, “When everyone is claiming to be a part of Modi’s family for self-defense, I suggested that they should shave their heads and remove their hair. First, let everyone shave, then we can believe they are truly part of Modi’s family.”

Maintaining his stance, Lalu Yadav remarked that when the Prime Minister, along with the entire BJP, claims to represent 140 crore Indians as his family, they should be ready to make symbolic gestures like shaving their heads. He emphasized that he had not made any false statements and that the public is watching.

Earlier, during his Jan Vishwas Rally speech, Lalu Yadav had taken a dig at PM Modi, questioning why he hadn’t shaved his head following his mother’s demise. Lalu Yadav stated that PM Modi is not a true Hindu, criticizing the Prime Minister’s scripted speeches and urging him to address issues such as joblessness, inflation, and poverty.

Lalu Prasad, the national president of RJD, further commented that every time PM Modi visits Bihar, he avoids discussing issues like jobs, unemployment, inflation, poverty, and the special state category. He accused the BJP of being in power at the center for 10 years and in Bihar for 15 years, yet failing to address these crucial matters.
