Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Chouhan, shared insightful reflections during a spiritual event organized by the Brahma Kumaris in Bhopal. Drawing a vivid analogy, Chouhan expressed, “If you are a Chief Minister, (such people say) ‘bhaisahab your feet and hands are like a lotus’. But when one is no longer (on the chief minister’s post), (his) photos disappear from hoardings like the horns from a donkey’s head.”

Chouhan, who stepped down from the CM position last month to make way for Mohan Yadav, highlighted the transient nature of political prominence. He emphasized the joy derived from altruistic goals and the challenges faced when moving away from political engagements.

The BJP veteran humorously noted, “There are leaders like Modi ji (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) who live for the country. But there are many who see colors.” Chouhan’s departure followed the BJP’s overwhelming victory in the previous assembly elections, securing 163 out of 230 seats.

This isn’t the first time Chouhan has commented on post-CM life, previously stating that sometimes one has to go on ‘vanvas’ after coronation. Despite the change in leadership, Chouhan assured continuity in fulfilling promises made to farmers and advancing schemes like the ‘Ladli Behena Awas Yojana.’
