Lucknow,  In preparation for the Pran Pratishtha in Ayodhya, hotels in Lucknow have been directed not to accept advance bookings for January 20, 21, 22, and 23, 2024. Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad emphasized during a meeting at the Collectorate Auditorium that hotels should not engage in overcharging and must provide the best hospitality to the large number of people, dignitaries, and guests expected to arrive for the grand opening of the Ram Temple on January 22, 2023.

Prasad stated, “All hotel operators must ensure that no advance booking of rooms has been made by any person for the purpose of profiteering during the program. If found, such bookings should be verified and cancelled.” The directive aims to prevent any exploitation of the situation for financial gain and ensure a positive experience for visitors.

To enhance security measures, Police Commissioner SB Shiradkar announced that police verification of newly appointed personnel working in hotels and taxi drivers associated with hotels will be conducted. District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar stressed the importance of a mandatory training program for hotel staff and taxi drivers to ensure polite behavior with visitors. He also emphasized that hotel room rents during the program period should be reasonable.

The continuous arrival of tourists for Ayodhya darshan is expected to commence from January 22, and officials urged hotel staff and management to make necessary preparations to avoid inconveniences for visitors. The meeting involved senior officials, representatives of the Hotel Association Lucknow, and officers from various departments to coordinate efforts for a smooth and hospitable experience during the significant event.
