Over 100,000 teachers in Bihar are poised to receive their appointment letters on January 13. This significant event follows the Bihar government’s initiative to rehire teachers on a large scale, ensuring their swift placement in schools. After the initial phase of the Bihar Public Service Commission teacher recruitment, the focus has shifted to the second phase, where 69,076 vacancies were announced.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav are expected to attend the event on January 13, where appointment letters will be distributed to 1.10 lakh teachers. The Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, KK Pathak, has given directives for the issuance of appointment letters.

During the grand ceremony at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, Nitish Kumar will personally distribute letters to 25 thousand teachers. Simultaneously, designated ministers will hand over appointment letters to the remaining 85 thousand teachers at different district headquarters.

Bihar is on track to achieve an extraordinary feat, becoming the inaugural state in the nation to issue appointment letters to about 2.25 lakh newly appointed teachers in just three months, spanning from November 2023 to January 2024.

In the BPSC’s second phase of the teacher recruitment exam held between December 7 and 15, a staggering 1.10 lakh candidates were selected from the pool of eight lakh exam takers. The initial phase of BPSC teacher recruitment aimed to occupy 1,40,741 positions, with 1.12 lakh candidates successfully passing the examination.

Bihar Teacher Recruitment Phase II Vacancies:
– Bihar Middle School Teacher (Class 6 to 8): 31,982
– Bihar Secondary School Teacher (Class 9 to 10): 18,877
– Bihar Special School Teacher for Secondary School (Class 9 to 10): 270
