The ‘All India Muslim Mahapanchayat,’ originally scheduled to be held at the Ramlila ground in Delhi on Monday, has been deferred. Delhi Police cited the absence of a “written assurance” from the organizers regarding the safe and smooth conduct of the event as the reason for the deferral.

On December 1, the city police informed the Delhi High Court that permission was granted to Mission Save Constitution, subject to specific conditions. However, the police stated they did not receive written assurance related to certain points, preventing the issuance of a no-objection certificate (NOC). The organizers have moved a petition before the court, and a hearing is scheduled for December 19.

The police had requested assurances on various points, including maintaining the proposed crowd size of 10,000 people, ensuring no deviation in the names and number of speakers, and preventing any speeches against Indian laws or promoting hate speech.

While the event at the Ramlila ground is not proceeding, a smaller gathering is planned at Aiwan-e-Ghalib auditorium near ITO on Monday, as per the organizers.
