Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, amidst electoral fervor, declared on Tuesday that the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) aims to secure victory on over 200 seats in the upcoming 2025 Assembly elections. Additionally, Kumar expressed confidence that the NDA will sweep all 40 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. During his response to the Governor’s address in both houses of the legislature on Tuesday, the Chief Minister conveyed gratitude for the proposal of thanks, emphasizing that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the NDA is poised to perform well in the parliamentary polls.
Notably, Kumar asserted his commitment to lead the NDA in the state Assembly elections, signaling a determination to surpass the 200-seat mark. He stated unequivocally that he will not step aside from the NDA. The legislative proceedings witnessed opposition members being ousted during the Chief Minister’s address.
The session, however, experienced a temporary halt as the House decided to adjourn proceedings until 11 AM on February 15. This decision came after the Chief Minister’s request for unanimous passage of the proposal of thanks in the interest of the state’s development.
Regarding the motion of no confidence in the Assembly, the Chief Minister declared an intention to scrutinize those attempting to disrupt proceedings, vowing to inquire into their motives. He emphasized the need to question who has gained or lost in this matter, signaling a commitment to investigate any irregularities. Kumar highlighted the development projects mentioned in the Governor’s address and challenged the opposition’s criticism of insufficient progress.
On the law and order situation in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar affirmed that the state upholds the rule of law, and no compromises will be made. He highlighted the improved opportunities for employment in the state since 2005, emphasizing the transformation in people’s lives and the empowerment of women, who now venture out late into the night. He attributed these positive changes to the efforts initiated since 2005, without mentioning the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) but expressing a desire for credit where it is due.
