In anticipation of the forthcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the leaders of the INDIA alliance are poised to extend invitations to the Akali Dal and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) to join their formidable opposition front, aimed at countering the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government. This strategic move comes as the INDIA alliance gains momentum in its quest to consolidate a robust opposition against the ruling party, as reported by The Economic Times.

Leaders at the forefront of the INDIA alliance, including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and National Conference (NC) leader Farooq Abdullah, will unite with their former ally, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), in Haryana’s Kaithal on September 25. Together, they will participate in a rally commemorating the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Devi Lal.

According to reports, the event in Haryana is expected to draw the presence of other prominent opposition leaders, such as Uddhav Thackeray, the Chief of Shiv Sena, leaders from Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party (SP), and Sharad Pawar, the chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Notably, Nitish Kumar had previously extended an appeal to Sukhbir Singh Badal, urging him to align with opposition forces to confront the ruling BJP in the 2024 general elections.

The INDIA alliance, comprising an array of opposition parties, has committed to contesting the 2024 Lok Sabha elections together, striving to reach a consensus on seat-sharing arrangements through collaborative negotiation. The alliance aims to synchronize communication and media strategies and launch cohesive campaigns.

Furthermore, the opposition coalition has promised to expedite the seat-sharing formula and exhibits unwavering confidence in its ability to collectively represent 60% of the population, asserting its potential to vanquish the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
