With the Lok Sabha polls looming, JD(U) takes an unconventional route, planning independent rallies outside Bihar, defying the unity of the INDIA bloc. Nitish Kumar, JD(U) leader and Bihar Chief Minister, spearheads the ‘Akela Chalo’ strategy, aiming to gauge ground support beyond the state borders. Despite playing a pivotal role in forming the INDIA bloc, JD(U) pursues a distinct path, sparking questions about the bloc’s cohesiveness.

JD(U)’s recent ‘Bhim Sansad’ rally in Patna, focusing on consolidating Dalit votes, witnessed enthusiastic participation, signaling the party’s growing momentum. Nitish Kumar’s scheduled rally in Varanasi was deferred, but the JD(U) has announced forthcoming rallies in Jharkhand and Patna, all executed independently of the INDIA bloc.

While Nitish Kumar played a vital role in uniting opposition parties under the banner of INDIA against the BJP, JD(U)’s decision to conduct solo rallies prompts scrutiny. The party, currently part of the alliance, asserts its right to expand its support base independently.

Political analysts speculate on JD(U)’s motives, questioning whether the ‘Akela Chalo’ strategy is driven by a desire to strengthen the party’s position within the alliance or signals potential disagreements within the INDIA bloc.

As JD(U) charts its distinctive course, diverging from the INDIA bloc’s collective approach, the political landscape ahead of the Lok Sabha polls becomes increasingly nuanced.
