In the wake of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) performance in the southern states, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi admitted challenges in building party strength in the region. While the Congress enjoys a comfortable lead in the Telangana assembly elections, Joshi remains positive about the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

According to the latest trends, the BJP is leading in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, with Congress currently holding power in these states. Joshi attributes the BJP’s success in the northern states to widespread endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

“People have totally endorsed the leadership and program of PM Modi, and especially in the northern part of India, people have totally rejected the Congress party,” stated Joshi. He acknowledged the limited presence of BJP in southern states, except Karnataka, where the party has struggled to gain traction. Despite this setback, Joshi expressed confidence in the BJP’s performance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, particularly in Telangana.

“As far as Telangana is concerned, we will perform much better in Lok Sabha elections,” Joshi affirmed, underlining the party’s optimism for the national elections.

The state assembly election results are seen as indicators of the voters’ mood leading up to the Lok Sabha elections, where Prime Minister Modi eyes a third consecutive term. Early trends suggest a sweeping victory for the saffron party in the Hindi heartland states.

Currently, the BJP is leading on 163 out of 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 53 out of 90 seats in Chhattisgarh, and 114 out of 199 seats in Rajasthan.
