In a significant update on the Ayushman Bhava campaign, the Union Health Ministry reported that over 44 million Ayushman cards have been generated, allowing for free medical treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh per annum per family at empanelled hospitals.

Additionally, the campaign has seen the creation of more than 50 million Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA). The data, reflective of activity until December 28, underscores the campaign’s impact on healthcare accessibility.

As part of the Ayushman Bhava initiative, Ayushman Arogya Mandir Melas and Community Health Centre Melas have collectively drawn over 110 million attendees across 13.8 lakh health melas until the mentioned date.

The health melas featured 9,21,783 sessions dedicated to wellness, yoga, and meditation, with over 1.02 million teleconsultations conducted. Notably, approximately 64 million individuals received free drugs, and 51 million availed free diagnostic services.

The campaign extended its reach with 74,04,356 people benefiting from Ayush services, while 10,99,63,891 individuals were counseled for lifestyle activities.

Other highlights include the registration of 45,43,705 pregnant mothers in the first trimester, ANC checkups, and immunization provided to over 29 lakh mothers and 49 lakh children. Screening for various health aspects, including TB, hypertension, diabetes, oral cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, and cataract, was conducted for 189 million people.

Community Health Centre Melas recorded a registration of 1,54,41,950 people. General OPD consultations reached over 11 million patients, specialist OPD consultations amounted to 49,67,675, and major and minor surgeries totaled 38,309 and 1,30,760, respectively, by December 28.
