In a bid to motivate voters for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Modi took to social media to share a post featuring the viral video of the song “Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye” by Meet Bros.

The 2-minute 49-second video, crafted by Meet Bros, showcases voices from various parts of the country urging citizens to participate in the electoral process for the first time.

With the commencement of voting for the first phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in 21 states and union territories, the electoral buzz resonates across the nation. The first phase encompasses voting on 102 parliamentary seats.

Polling will begin at 7 a.m. and continue until 6 p.m. as per the Election Commission, with over 1.87 million polling stations and more than 18 million polling personnel deployed. An estimated 166.3 million voters are expected to exercise their franchise at these polling centers.

The states where polling will take place in the first phase include Tamil Nadu (39 seats), Uttarakhand (5), Arunachal Pradesh (2), Meghalaya (2), Andaman and Nicobar Islands (1), Mizoram (1), Nagaland (1), Puducherry (1), Sikkim (1), and Lakshadweep (1). Additionally, Rajasthan (12), Uttar Pradesh (8), Madhya Pradesh (6), Assam and Maharashtra (5 each), Bihar (4), West Bengal (3), Manipur (2), and one seat each in Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir, and Chhattisgarh will also go to polls.

As the electoral machinery gears up for the mammoth democratic exercise, PM Modi’s gesture aims to resonate with first-time voters and underscore the significance of their participation in shaping the nation’s future.
