In a spiritual sojourn, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to the renowned hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh. Clad in traditional South Indian attire, he offered prayers for the well-being, prosperity, and good health of all Indians. The pilgrimage took place as part of Modi’s visit to Telangana ahead of the upcoming assembly election.

Upon arriving in Tirumala on Sunday night, PM Modi received a grand welcome, with Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy extending greetings at the Reniginta airport. The Prime Minister’s itinerary includes two public meetings in Mahbubabad and Karimnagar, along with a roadshow in Hyderabad.

Sharing insights from his temple visit on X (formerly Twitter), Modi posted pictures donning traditional attire and paying tribute at the ‘Dwajasthambam.’ He sought blessings from temple priests after the prayers.

“At the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala, prayed for the good health, well-being, and prosperity of 140 crore Indians,” he tweeted. Another post echoed the spiritual sentiment, “Om Namo Venkatesaya!”

On the political front, Modi, during a Telangana rally, criticized the ruling Bharat Rasthra Samithi (BRS) government, pledging swift action on housing for the poor if the BJP forms the government.

Telangana is gearing up for polls on November 30, promising a three-way contest between BRS, Congress, and a resurgent BJP.
