President Droupadi Murmu accepted the resignations of Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Singh Patel, and Renuka Singh from the Union council of ministers. The President assigned additional charges to four Cabinet members in a move advised by the Prime Minister.

Former Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Singh Patel, and Renuka Singh, who resigned after winning in recent assembly elections, had their portfolios redistributed. Tribal affairs minister Arjun Munda now holds the additional charge of the ministry of agriculture and farmers welfare, previously overseen by Tomar. Shobha Karandlaje, Union minister of state for agriculture and farmers’ welfare, takes on the additional charge of the minister of state in food processing industries, a position earlier held by Patel.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, minister of state (MoS) for electronics and information technology, now assumes the additional charge of Jal Shakti as MoS, a role previously held by Patel. Bharati Pravin Pawar, MoS for health and family welfare, is given the additional charge of the minister of state in the ministry of tribal affairs, a responsibility earlier overseen by Singh.
