Jaipur witnessed severe traffic disruptions due to the DGP-IGP conference and VIP movements, leaving commuters stranded in chilly weather. The congestion, attributed to the conference and accompanying VIP movements, caused intermittent traffic jams in various parts of the city.
Around 4:45 pm, extensive traffic snarls stretched from the JMC office to Rambagh Circle. The Sardar Patel Marg near the BJP office also experienced closures, leading to shut shops, restaurants, and cafes. Police cordoned off areas around the BJP office, redirecting traffic and causing increased congestion on C-Scheme and Prithviraj Marg.
JLN Marg faced multiple instances of congestion, especially during VIP movements for the conference, resulting in diversions and jams on various routes. The B2 bypass witnessed heavy traffic, contributing to delays in nearby areas.
The OTS intersection to Jhalana faced blockades due to the national conference venue at the Rajasthan Information Centre (RIC) in Jhalana. Traffic issues persisted at Narayan Singh Circle, causing delays for commuters.
Jaipur police deployed additional personnel at major intersections to manage the high flow of vehicular traffic. The traffic disruptions are expected to continue until the conclusion of the national conference on Sunday.
Security measures in the city were heightened in anticipation of visits by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
