In a recent address at an event, Russian President Vladimir Putin showered accolades upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi, hailing him as a “remarkably sagacious statesman.” During his speech, Putin underscored the remarkable progress India has made under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi.

In a video disseminated by the Russian news outlet RT news, Putin articulated the robust political camaraderie shared with Prime Minister Modi, lauding his sagacity. Putin remarked, “We share exceptionally robust diplomatic ties with Prime Minister Modi, who has proven himself to be a highly sagacious statesman. India has made momentous strides in its developmental journey under his astute leadership. These advancements align seamlessly with the mutual interests of both India and Russia, and we are committed to collaboratively furthering this agenda,” as reported by news agency ANI.

Putin’s commendation emerges in the aftermath of the G20 Summit held in India, where the New Delhi Declaration was ratified. Moscow, in particular, hailed this declaration as a “landmark achievement.” Notably, the declaration emphasized the imperative of peace amidst the ongoing Ukraine conflict, abstaining from apportioning blame on Russia, signifying a notable deviation from the preceding Bali Declaration.

Earlier, Putin had articulated his admiration for the ‘Make in India’ initiative, a visionary campaign inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in 2014, designed to invigorate entrepreneurship in India, particularly in the manufacturing sector.

Addressing the 8th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), Putin proposed that Russia could draw valuable lessons from India’s success in bolstering domestic industries. “We had no domestically manufactured automobiles at that time, but today we do. I believe we should emulate the practices of our allies, such as India, which have placed a significant emphasis on the production and utilization of domestically manufactured vehicles. Prime Minister Modi’s unwavering commitment to the Make in India program is commendable and well-founded,” Putin remarked.

In conclusion, Vladimir Putin’s commendation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only underscores the strength of the diplomatic ties between Russia and India but also highlights the exceptional leadership qualities attributed to the Indian Prime Minister.
