States issue advisories, guidelines after JN.1 subvariant case reported in India

In response to the detection of the JN.1 variant in India, several states issue fresh guidelines following the Central government’s advisory. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to assess health facilities readiness on December 20 virtually.

Rajasthan Takes Precautions:

Rajasthan’s health department holds a review meeting directing medical institutions to monitor patients with cold and respiratory diseases. Emphasis on ensuring essential facilities’ availability as a precautionary measure.

Uttarakhand on High Alert:

Uttarakhand issues an advisory, urging efforts to curb COVID-19 spread. Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar instructs strict adherence to prevention guidelines, including monitoring patients and testing individuals with influenza-like symptoms.

Karnataka’s Precautionary Measures:

Karnataka issues an advisory urging the elderly, those with comorbidities, pregnant women, and lactating mothers to wear face masks outdoors. Emphasis on avoiding closed spaces and crowded areas.
