‘Tamil Nadu has vibrant coastline’, PM Modi dedicates development projects worth over ₹20,000 crore | Top updates

In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced the 38th convocation ceremony of Bharathidasan University in Tamil Nadu. During the event, he dedicated multiple development projects amounting to over ₹20,000 crore, covering sectors such as aviation, rail, road, oil and gas, shipping, and higher education. These projects include the inauguration of the new terminal at Tiruchirappalli International Airport.

Governor RN Ravi and Chief Minister MK Stalin were present at the ceremony, where PM Modi expressed his joy at being part of this occasion. He congratulated the graduating students and emphasized the role of education in India’s progress.

Key Quotes from PM Modi’s Address:

1. “I am happy to be in the beautiful state of Tamil Nadu and among young people. I am the first prime minister to have the privilege of coming here at the convocation.”

 

2. “Every graduate here can help contribute to creating a developed India by 2047.”

3. “India is being welcomed as a part of every global solution, be it strengthening institutions like the G20, fighting climate change, or playing a bigger role in the global supply chain.”

4. “Our innovators took the number of patents from around 4,000 in 2014 to almost 50,000 now.”

5. “In the last few years, we have worked to match you in speed and scale so that we can benefit you. In the last 10 years, the number of airports has doubled from 74 to nearly 150.”

The prime minister also touched upon recent challenges faced by Tamil Nadu, including floods, expressing the central government’s support.
