In a unique display of unity and cultural harmony, two Muslim women from Varanasi, Nazneen Ansari and Najma Parvin, are set to bring the ‘Ramjyoti’ (Ram torch) from Ayodhya to Kashi. This symbolic journey aims to convey the message that Lord Ram is a shared ancestor, and the DNA of every Indian is interconnected.

Nazneen, a conflict management graduate from BHU, and Najma, with a PhD on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will embark on their journey to Ayodhya, departing on Saturday. The consecration ceremony will witness the torch being handed over to them by Mahant Shambhu Devacharya.

Both women have been actively involved in promoting unity and peace, with Nazneen translating Hanuman Chalisa and Ramcharit Manas into Urdu. They emphasize the commonality of ancestry, stating, “A person can change his religion but not the ancestor. Just as Mecca is for Muslims, Ayodhya is a holy place for Hindus and those who believe in Indian culture.”

This initiative is not the first for Nazneen and Najma. In 2006, when terrorists attacked the Sankat Mochan temple, they, along with 70 Muslim women, recited Hanuman Chalisa to restore communal harmony. Their efforts have extended to performing Shri Ram Aarti with hundreds of Muslim women during Ram Navami and Diwali.

The upcoming consecration of Shri Ram in Patalpuri Math on January 22 is part of the Ram Parivar Bhakti Movement. The duo plans to distribute Ramjyoti starting January 21, spreading the message of cultural inclusivity.
