Bhopal, Following the resolution of the chief ministership issue in Madhya Pradesh, attention now turns to the future of leaders who contested the state assembly election at the party’s behest. Notably, the focus is on Jyotiraditya Scindia, who, despite not contesting the state assembly election, was in the race for the chief minister’s post in Madhya Pradesh.

Questions arise about Scindia’s next steps. Will he contest the 2024 Lok Sabha election despite his ongoing term in the Rajya Sabha, and to what extent will he influence Cabinet formation in MP, considering the reduced strength of his supporters in the BJP legislative party?

In 2020, Scindia joined the BJP with 22 Congress MLAs, known for their loyalty. In the 2023 election, the BJP fielded 16 of his loyalists, of whom 8 lost, including prominent figures like Imarti Devi and Mahendra Singh Sisodia. Despite losses in the Gwalior-Chambal region, where Scindia has a strong influence, the BJP performed exceptionally well, winning 19 of 34 seats.

Scindia’s influence, demonstrated through extensive campaigning in Gwalior-Chambal, may play a crucial role in his future endeavors. The BJP’s success in Guna and Shivpuri districts, part of Scindia’s Lok Sabha constituency, adds to his political standing.
