According to media reports, the Indian Navy intercepted an Iranian boat engaged in fishing activities and successfully freed 23 Pakistani citizens who were onboard. Prior to the rescue mission, the Indian Navy had announced its efforts to rescue the captured fishing boat. An operation was launched with elite naval forces and their respective crews onboard. The Navy clarified that the vessel was intercepted on Thursday.
Location of the Operation:
The INS Sumedha intercepted the FV Al Kamber on Friday. Following this, INS Trishul joined the operation, resulting in the successful rescue of the individuals onboard. The captured fishing boat was traced approximately 90 nautical miles southwest of Socotra, originating from the location. It was reported that armed maritime pirates were onboard the vessel during the incident.
