New Delhi, India’s cricket captain, Rohit Sharma, has broken his silence since the heartbreaking defeat to Australia in the 2023 World Cup final. In an emotional address, Rohit shared the challenges of coping with the loss and expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from fans.

Speaking in a heartfelt video posted on Team Ro’s Instagram handle, Rohit revealed the emotional turmoil he faced after the final and how he struggled to come to terms with the defeat. “I had no idea how to come back from this. The first few days, I didn’t know what to do. After the final, it was very hard to get back and start moving on,” confessed Rohit.

Despite the pain, Rohit acknowledged the immense support from fans, emphasizing that people coming up to him and appreciating the team’s efforts helped in the healing process. He expressed disappointment about not clinching the World Cup but took pride in India’s exceptional performance throughout the tournament.

“I am really proud of the team. How we played was simply outstanding. You don’t get to perform like that every World Cup. I am pretty sure that how we played up until that final would have given people a lot of joy, a lot of pride watching the team play,” said Rohit.

The video showcased Rohit’s appreciation for the fans and their understanding of the players’ emotions. He highlighted the importance of the public’s love and motivation in helping the team move forward.

Rohit also touched upon his personal disappointment of not winning the 50-over World Cup, a dream he had nurtured throughout his career. He acknowledged the frustration and disappointment that comes with falling short of such a significant milestone.

Looking ahead, Rohit Sharma expressed gratitude for the support and love received, stating that it motivates him to get back, start working again, and aim for future successes.
