In a recent event organized by ABP Majha, the legendary Javed Akhtar expressed concerns about the challenges filmmakers face today, hindering creativity in the industry. Akhtar highlighted the increased difficulty in making films due to fear among producers and censorship concerns.

Speaking candidly, Akhtar stated, “Making a film has become more difficult than before. People involved in filmmaking get scared, and censorship becomes a source of fear. The fear of creating a good or realistic film has intensified.”

Addressing a specific example, Akhtar mentioned that if he were writing the script for the iconic 1975 film “Sholay” today, he wouldn’t include the temple scene between Dharmendra and Hema Malini due to potential controversies. He emphasized that such scenes could become problematic in today’s context.

“Sholay,” directed by Ramesh Sippy, is celebrated as an Indian classic, known for its memorable dialogues and storyline.
