In a recurring controversy, suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kalyan Banerjee has once again mimicked Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, this time in Bengal. The incident follows last week’s uproar when Banerjee mimicked the Vice President during a protest with other suspended MPs at Parliament’s Makar Dwar.

Expressing his displeasure, Jagdeep Dhankhar deemed it an insult to his position, caste, and family background. Banerjee, however, remains defiant, stating that mimicry is an art form, and he will continue to do it, claiming his fundamental right to express views.

“I will keep doing the mimicry. It is an art form. If needed, I will do it a thousand times. I have all the fundamental rights to express my views. You can put me in jail. I will not step back,” affirmed Banerjee at an event in West Bengal’s Serampore.

Dhankhar’s upset over what he termed a “trivial issue” was criticized by Banerjee, who remarked, “Dhankhar cried like a child.”

Known for his history of contentious remarks, Banerjee has faced criticism for mimicking political figures in the past. The recent incident has reignited the political row, drawing reactions from President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other leaders.

The TMC MP’s actions have been characterized as a loose cannon, reflecting his confrontations with political adversaries over the years. Banerjee, a loyal supporter of Mamata Banerjee, has been a three-time MP from Serampore and remains at the center of political debates.

Stay tuned for further updates on this unfolding political drama.
