In a significant political development, Jitu Patwari has been appointed as the new Madhya Pradesh Congress chief, replacing Kamal Nath. The Congress, in an official statement, announced the immediate effect of Patwari’s appointment.
Apart from this change, Umang Singhar assumes the role of the new Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader, while Hemant Katare steps in as the new deputy leader of Madhya Pradesh. The party acknowledged the contributions of outgoing PCC president Kamal Nath.
The decision to replace the party chief follows the recent defeat of the Congress to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election. The BJP secured 163 out of 230 assembly seats, retaining power in the state.
