In a dramatic turn of events, the Janata Dal United (JD(U)) in Bihar witnessed a leadership change, stirring political waves in the state. Former Deputy CM of Bihar and BJP MP Sushil Modi leveled serious allegations against outgoing JD(U) President Rajeev Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh. Modi claimed that Lalan Singh was removed from his position due to his involvement in engineering defections within the JD(U) with a plan to install Tejashwi Yadav as the next Chief Minister of Bihar.
This revelation unfolded as Lalan Singh resigned from his positions, allowing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to take charge at the national executive meeting of the party in New Delhi.
Sushil Modi stated, “We had already announced earlier that Lalan Singh would be removed since he broke 12-13 MLAs off the JD(U) party, and he had prepared to make Tejashwi Yadav CM by joining hands with Lalu Yadav, but Nitish Kumar got to know it, so he pre-empted it and removed Lalan Singh timely.”
Emphasizing that this move is just the “beginning of the game,” Sushil Modi hinted at more developments to follow. He dismissed any prospect of Nitish Kumar finding a prominent role in the INDIA alliance, stating, “Our gates are closed for him.”
Responding to these allegations, JD(U) chief spokesperson K C Tyagi highlighted Nitish Kumar’s wide acceptability and leadership credentials. The party’s resolution emphasized the need for larger parties in the alliance to show generosity in making the grand alliance successful.
