In its latest move for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its 8th candidate list, encompassing Odisha, Punjab, and West Bengal. Dinesh Singh ‘Babbu’ has been nominated from Gurudaspur, while Taranjit Singh Sandhu will contest from Amritsar. Shushil Kumar Rinku will represent Jalandhar, and Hans Raj Hans will contest from Ferozepur. Meanwhile, Parnit Kaur has been nominated from Patiala.

In Odisha:

– Jajpur: Ravindra Narayan Behra

– Kandhamal: Sukant Kumar Panigrahi

– Cuttack: Bhartrihari Mahatab

In Punjab:

– Gurudaspur: Dinesh Singh Babbu

– Amritsar: Taranjit Singh Sandhu

– Jalandhar: Shushil Kumar Rinku

– Ludhiana: Ravneet Singh Bittu

– Ferozepur: Hans Raj Hans

– Patiala: Parnit Kaur

Sunny Deol Snubbed:

Notably, actor-turned-politician Sunny Deol, who is currently the BJP MP from Gurdaspur, has been denied a ticket this time. Instead, the party has fielded Dinesh Singh ‘Babbu’ from the constituency.

BJP’s Confidence in Rebels:

In a show of confidence in rebel leaders, BJP has entrusted tickets to former Aam Aadmi Party member Shushil Kumar Rinku and Congress rebel Ravneet Singh Bittu, who recently defected to the BJP.

The move signifies BJP’s strategy to bolster its ranks with influential figures from various political backgrounds ahead of the upcoming elections.
