A significant announcement regarding the dates for the Lok Sabha Election 2024 and some state assembly elections is set to be made tomorrow, March 16.

The Election Commission will hold a press conference at 3 pm, with the event livestreamed on the social media platforms of the ECI.

Following the announcement of the election dates, the Model Code of Conduct will come into effect nationwide.

This code, established to ensure impartial conduct of elections, imposes restrictions such as prohibiting the announcement or inauguration of any government scheme and the use of government vehicles or residences for campaigning by politicians or candidates.

It’s worth noting that the Model Code of Conduct was introduced in 1960, when elections were scheduled in Kerala, and was formulated collaboratively by all political parties.
