Lok Sabha Elections: JD(U) releases list of star campaigners, Keshi Tyagi not included

Patna: The JD(U) has selected 40 star campaigners for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections. These star campaigners, including JD(U)’s National President and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, will tour various regions for election campaigning. The party had submitted this list to the Election Commission of India, which has approved the star campaigners for campaigning.

Keshi Tyagi’s Name Missing

Notably, Keshi Tyagi’s name is missing from the JD(U)’s list. The list includes prominent leaders such as Bashishth Narayan Singh, Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, and Umesh Singh Kushwaha. Additionally, leaders like Sanjay Kumar Jha, Ramanath Thakur, Shravan Kumar, Narendra Narayan Yadav, and others are also part of the star campaigners’ list, but Keshi Tyagi’s name is conspicuously absent.

Inclusion of Ministers and Legislators

The list also includes several ministers and legislators. Maheshwar Hazari, Sheila Kumari, Sunil Kumar, Jayant Raj, Jama Khan, Ratnesh Sada, Vinod Kumar Yadav, Ajit Choudhary, Sanjay Singh, Neeraj Kumar, Lalan Kumar Sarraf, Khalid Anwar, Ravindra Prasad Singh, Jaykumar Singh, Ramsevak Singh, Santosh Kumar Nirala, Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, Ashok Kumar Singh, Vasishtha Singh, Rahul Sharma, Arun Manjhi, Kamr Alam, and Manorama Devi are among the members included in the campaign committee.

Formation of 79-Member Election Campaign Committee

JD(U) has announced the formation of the 2024 Lok Sabha General Election Campaign Committee on Thursday. JD(U)’s National President and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has constituted this election campaign committee, which includes a total of 79 party leaders. The responsibility of chairing the committee has been given to the party’s senior leader and Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav. Additionally, the party’s senior leader and Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary have been appointed as the coordinator, while Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha has been appointed as the co-coordinator, and Legislative Councilor Ravindra Prasad Singh has been appointed as the deputy coordinator. Furthermore, the party’s state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha, Bharati Mehta, Sanjay Varma, Shubhanand Mukesh, Amardeep, and Shweta Vishwas, among 75 party leaders, have been made members of the Election Campaign Committee. The Election Campaign Committee will be responsible for overseeing and conducting election-related activities during this Lok Sabha election.

JD(U) Books Two Helicopters

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and senior leaders of JD(U) are commencing their election campaign from today. JD(U)’s Treasurer and MLC Lalansaraf informed that JD(U) has booked two helicopters for this purpose. Although JD(U) does not have any seats in the ongoing first phase of elections, it has secured five seats in the second phase. JD(U) is contesting on 16 seats in Bihar, with candidates such as Santosh Kushwaha from Purnia, Sunil Kumar from Valmikinagar, Lovely Anand from Shivhar, Devesh Chandra Thakur from Sitamarhi, Vijayalakshmi Kushwaha from Siwan, Kaushalendra Kumar from Nalanda, Mujahid Alam from Kishanganj, Chandeshwar Prasad Chandravanshi from Jehanabad, Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh from Munger, Giridhari Yadav from Banka, Ramprit Mandal from Jhanjharpur, Alok Kumar Suman from Gopalganj, Dileshwar Kamat from Supaul, Dinesh Chandra Yadav from Madhepura, and Ajay Kumar Mandal from Bhagalpur.
