In the midst of ongoing political upheaval in Bihar, a substantial administrative reshuffle took place on Friday, involving the transfer of 45 officers from the Bihar Administrative Service (BAS) and 22 officers from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The transferred officials include Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, who was previously engaged in a conflict with K.K. Pathak, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, specifically regarding school holidays. Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh has now been appointed as the Special Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

Moreover, the top-ranking Kapil Ashok will assume the role of the new District Magistrate in Patna. This administrative shake-up extends to various departments, including Home and Finance, where several secretaries have been transferred. The General Administration Department has issued a notification regarding these changes.

Notable District Magistrate Changes:

– Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, previously Patna’s District Magistrate, is now appointed as the Special Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

– Kapil Ashok, the Inspector General of Registration and Excise Services, will be the new District Magistrate of Patna.

– Rajnikant, the Chief General Manager of Bihar State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Limited, has been appointed as the District Magistrate of Lakhisarai.

– Naval Kishore Chaudhary, District Magistrate of Gopalganj, will now serve as the District Magistrate of Bhagalpur.

– Subrat Kumar Sen, the District Magistrate of Bhagalpur, is reassigned to the role of District Magistrate in Muzaffarpur.

– Mo. Maqsud Alam, previously the Confidential Assistant to the Chief Minister, will now serve as the District Magistrate of Gopalganj.

This administrative reshuffle also encompasses IAS officers:

– Arvind Kumar Choudhary, Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, will continue in his additional role as Principal Secretary of the Rural Development Department until further orders.

– K. Senthil, Chief Secretary of the Home Department, will hold additional responsibilities as the Principal Secretary of the Planning and Development Department until further orders.

– Pankaj Kumar, Chief Secretary of the Backward and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare Department, is appointed as the Principal Secretary of the Health Engineering Department.

– Safina A.N., Chief Secretary of the Scheduled and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare Department, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the Revenue Council in Patna.

These transfers reflect a strategic realignment within the administrative framework, signaling potential changes in the state’s political landscape.
