In a significant move aimed at boosting tourism and economic growth, Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced the removal of entry visa requirements for citizens of China and India. Effective December 1, Chinese and Indian nationals will enjoy visa-free entry for a duration of up to 30 days, with the provision of security screening.

This decision aligns with Malaysia’s strategy to attract additional tourists and enhance spending, contributing to overall economic development. Prime Minister Anwar, addressing the People’s Justice Party’s annual congress in Putrajaya, emphasized plans to improve visa facilities in the coming year, particularly targeting tourists and investors from India and China.

China reciprocated the gesture by allowing citizens from six countries, including Malaysia, to enter without a visa. This reciprocal agreement, in effect from December 1 to November 30 of the following year, permits leisure, business, and family travelers from these nations to stay in China for up to 15 days visa-free.
