A man was found hanged to death inside a subway tunnel near Grand Central Station in New York, around 5:15 a.m. Sunday, the New York Police Department said.
According to the New York Post, cops believe the man’s death was an apparent suicide and no foul play is suspected.
The unidentified man, who was wearing clothes but had bare feet, was found hanging from a wire about 30 metres from the busy transit hub by Metropolitan Transportation Authority workers.
Workers found him unconscious and unresponsive. He was declared dead at the scene.
The Post reported video of the scene was shared to social media site X — formally Twitter — as the NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit were about to place the remains in a white body bag.
