Haridwar, In a recent move, the district administration of Haridwar demolished a ‘mazar’ believed to be constructed on government land. The Haridwar municipal corporation had issued a notice regarding unauthorized religious structures, leading to the removal of the ‘mazar’ located in Khanna Nagar colony. Simultaneously, the administration initiated the dismantling of a Hindu saint’s grave in Govindpuri, alleged to be constructed on government land.

During the removal process in Govindpuri, locals opposed the action, prompting the administration to grant them one week to relocate the structure. Haridwar SDM Ajayveer Singh stated, “Police and district officials tried to convince the locals but failed. Therefore, one week’s time has been given to them to relocate the structure.”
