The Rs 668-crore Mithapur-Mahuli elevated road, aimed at easing vehicular movement in the southern fringes of Patna, is expected to be completed by March 2024, much to the relief of the residents.
As of now, 106 out of the total 112 spans have been completed, and the remaining spans are set to be installed by January 15, 2024. The construction of the road under the elevated section is also progressing swiftly and is expected to be finished by January. Prem Shankar, executive engineer of Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited (BSRDCL), the nodal agency for the project, mentioned that the road’s finishing work will be completed approximately two months after the elevated section is finalized, placing the overall completion date in March 2024.
The elevated road project includes two underpasses, one near Chanakya National Law University and another between NH-30 and Sipara flyover. Additionally, a new project from Mahuli to Punpun and Mithapur to Sipara is slated to commence post-March 2024.
Shankar noted that the soil testing for the upcoming project will be concluded within a fortnight, with piling work starting after January 14. The construction agency will finalize the design and drawing after approval.
