Gurugram: The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has formally requested 1.81 hectares of land from the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) near the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway to establish a concrete batching and mixing plant for the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project. This proposed facility will be vital for casting girders and tunnel segments required for the ambitious RRTS project.

According to a letter dated December 18, sent by KK Gupta, Chief Project Manager, NCRTC Gurugram, to HSVP, the corporation is in need of temporary casting yard sites along the rapid rail alignment. The identified land, currently owned by HSVP, is located near the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) toll plaza on Sirhaul border adjacent to the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway.

The letter outlines the requirement for 1.81 hectares in the revenue estate of Dundahera village. While the proposed land requisition is currently under consideration, a decision is expected soon.

In the letter, NCRTC highlights the importance of establishing the casting yard near Cyber City station. It mentions that during a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister of Haryana on January 6, 2020, it was decided to expedite the process of handing over the required government land to NCRTC for the RRTS project.

The RRTS project is planned to be implemented in three phases. The first phase involves the construction of a 107-kilometer stretch from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to SNB Urban Complex (Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror), touching key regional nodes like Gurugram, Manesar, Panchgaon, and Rewari. The subsequent phases will extend the line further.

The letter concludes by stating that the Delhi-SNB corridor is among the three priority corridors in the national capital region. The detailed project report for this phase has been approved by the governments of Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi and is currently under consideration by the central government.
