MUMBAI, A devastating explosion rocked an explosives factory in Nagpur, Maharashtra, resulting in the loss of at least nine lives and leaving several others injured on Sunday morning, as confirmed by a local police officer. The incident unfolded at a facility operated by Solar Industries India, a manufacturer of industrial and military explosives, propellants, and warheads for the country’s defense sector.

The blast, which occurred in the factory’s packing area, prompted an immediate response, with the injured rushed to nearby hospitals. The police officer, Salve, who was part of the on-site investigation team, noted that the casualty count might rise.

Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the explosion, and Solar Industries India released a statement confirming the tragic incident. The company expressed condolences for the lives lost and pledged to conduct a thorough investigation into the accident, determining necessary corrective and preventive measures.
