MUMBAI, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray stated on Saturday that he has not received an invitation to attend the inauguration of the Ram temple at Ayodhya. However, he emphasized that he does not require an invite to visit the temple, as he has visited the site several times. Thackeray urged that the inauguration should not be turned into a political event.
Thackeray recalled the Shiv Sena’s involvement in the demolition of the Babri Masjid, expressing satisfaction that the Ram Mandir is now being inaugurated. Responding to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who claimed to be present during the Babri Masjid’s demolition, Thackeray remarked humorously, “I don’t know if he climbed it and it collapsed under his weight.”
Fadnavis, reminiscing about his days as a kar sevak, faced a retort from Thackeray, suggesting he review the CBI case papers related to the demolition. The Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut added that many leaders, including Shiv Seniks, were named in the CBI case after the Babri Masjid demolition.
