LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated on Thursday that prior to 2017, children from other states used to enroll in UP due to the easy availability of copying material. However, since the BJP came to power, various initiatives have been introduced to improve the education system in the state, putting an end to the copying practice.

The CM, speaking at the inauguration of 925 renovated schools in UP under the PM Shri Schools scheme, emphasized the initiatives taken, including introducing coaching services, upgrading school infrastructure, and connecting children with technology.

“As a result, prestigious global educational institutions are expressing interest in establishing their branches in the state,” Yogi said. Touching upon the New Education Policy (NEP), he mentioned that the PM Shri School Scheme helped in taking forward the vision of a ‘New India’.

Yogi Adityanath criticized the Opposition, stating that their governments neglected educational facilities, forcing underprivileged children to attend schools with no facilities, teachers, or connectivity. He highlighted the improvements made in UP’s education system, including the One District One Product initiative, skill development, and other educational programs.

The CM also spoke about the success of initiatives like Operation Kayakalp, which upgraded 96% of basic schools, and the School Chalo Abhiyan, which played a crucial role in bringing back 40 lakh children to schools. The government addressed issues like children attending school barefoot during cold weather by transferring funds to students for the purchase of bags, books, sweaters, and shoes.

To tackle the shortage of teachers, the government recruited 1.25 lakh teachers. Yogi Adityanath also mentioned the Abhyudaya Scheme, providing coaching to students for competitive exams like NEET, IIT, UPSC, etc., leading to the state’s children securing jobs through various competitive examinations.
