In the 107th episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon the citizens of India to embrace digital payments, specifically advocating the use of Unified Payment Interface (UPI) applications. Stressing the reduction in cash transactions during Diwali for the second consecutive year, PM Modi urged people to commit to using only UPI for their transactions over the next month. He noted the significant increase in UPI payments in recent months and encouraged individuals to share their experiences with him.
During the radio show, PM Modi emphasized the nation’s progress in digital payments, attributing the reduced dependency on cash to India’s digital advancements. He called on everyone to take the pledge of relying solely on UPI for transactions, highlighting the accessibility and possibilities offered by India’s digital landscape.
In addition, PM Modi acknowledged the success of business transactions, amounting to around ₹4 lakh crore, during recent festivals. He commended the enthusiasm among people to purchase products made in India.
