Patna, Travellers departing from Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport, Patna, to major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru are facing escalated flight ticket prices, reaching as high as ₹30,000 over the next three days.
For flights scheduled from December 9 to 11, the airfare from Patna to Mumbai is ranging between ₹24,000 to ₹30,000, while tickets to Bengaluru are priced at ₹19,000 to ₹27,000. Flights to Delhi are slightly more affordable, ranging from ₹11,000 to ₹26,000. Although ticket prices are expected to decrease after December 12, they still remain elevated compared to previous years.
Saurabh Khemka, a local travel agency owner, highlighted the persistently high fares since the closure of Go Air. He noted that, for example, tickets to Delhi, which used to cost ₹2,500 to ₹4,000, have surged to ₹7,000 to ₹8,000. Khemka also mentioned frequent flight delays due to adverse weather conditions, citing a recent case of a two-and-a-half-hour delay.
On Friday, two Spicejet flights experienced significant delays, affecting both the arrival and departure schedules. The delays were attributed to flight SG 8721/8729 to and from Delhi and flight SG 429/430 to and from Mumbai.
Travellers are expressing concern over the sustained high fares, questioning the impact on their travel plans.
