PM Modi addressed a rally in Bihar today, kicking off his election campaign for the Lok Sabha. The rally, held in Jamui, saw the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and leaders from the coalition. Modi began his speech by invoking the spirit of Bharat Mata and highlighting Bihar’s historical significance as the land of Chandragupta Maurya.
He emphasized that India is no longer considered weak or poor as it was during Congress rule. Under previous administrations, India suffered from terrorism emanating from across the border, but Modi asserted that his government has taken decisive action to combat such threats. He called on the people of Bihar to support the BJP-led NDA alliance in all 40 constituencies.
Modi praised the development in Bihar, contrasting it with the “jungle raj” of the past characterized by Naxalism and lack of government initiatives reaching the people. He highlighted Bihar’s progress in various sectors such as education and healthcare under the leadership of Nitish Kumar.
Deputy Chief Minister and BJP state president Samrat Choudhary lauded Modi’s leadership, stating that 99% of his promises have been fulfilled. He mentioned schemes providing free healthcare and crackdowns on corruption and criminal elements in Bihar.
Chirag Paswan, addressing the crowd, stressed the importance of Modi’s third term as Prime Minister, attributing India’s economic growth and global standing to his leadership. He also highlighted the eradication of Naxalism in regions like Jamui, once considered heavily affected.
Overall, the rally showcased the alliance’s commitment to furthering Bihar’s development under Modi’s leadership, while also acknowledging the challenges overcome and progress achieved.
