Patna: In a historic moment, the Bihar cricket team has entered the elite group of the Ranji Trophy for the first time after parting ways with Jharkhand. The maiden match in the Ranji Elite Group for the state is underway following their separation from Jharkhand. The first encounter took place between Bihar and Mumbai at the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna on Friday.

Before this highly anticipated match, there has been considerable buzz surrounding the social media uproar over the dilapidated condition of the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna. A viral video showcasing the stadium’s deteriorated state has circulated throughout the day. It’s worth noting that the stadium has not undergone renovations for 45 years, resulting in its current run-down condition. The roof over the main gate area is in disrepair, with a significant number of spectators seated underneath on Friday.

In response to safety concerns, security personnel took prompt action by relocating them. Several danger signs were prominently displayed in various sections of the stadium. A message on one of the boards stated that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) would not be held responsible for any untoward incidents. Moreover, heaps of garbage were piled up in the seating areas, drawing criticism from spectators. The deteriorating state of the stadium has sparked public outcry, raising questions about the responsibility and accountability of the cricket authorities.
