Lucknow, In the wake of a second bout of rain within five days, Lucknow received 6.6 mm of precipitation, further plummeting day temperatures. Citizens, especially the underprivileged, grappled with the harsh cold exacerbated by overcast conditions and westerly winds.

The maximum and minimum temperatures in the state capital recorded at 16 and 12 degrees Celsius, respectively. Mohd Danish, in-charge of the Lucknow Met office, reported dense to very dense fog across the state, impacting visibility and intensifying winter chill.

The forecast for Lucknow predicts mainly clear skies with dense fog in the morning, and temperatures hovering around 17 and 11 degrees Celsius during the day and night. Meanwhile, West Uttar Pradesh anticipates mostly dry weather, with isolated rain/thundershowers expected in East Uttar Pradesh.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning for dense to very dense fog conditions in isolated pockets over West and East Uttar Pradesh from January 6 to 9. On Friday, visibility dropped significantly in several areas, with Muzaffarnagar emerging as the coldest place in U.P.

Residents are advised to brace for another spell of rain on January 8 and 9, as per the latest statement from Mohd Danish. The impact of these weather conditions extends to various aspects of daily life, disrupting transportation and affecting day-to-day activities.

Stay tuned for further weather updates.
