New Delhi – In a compelling declaration, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief, Mohan Bhagwat, has reiterated the timeless secular nature of ‘Bharat,’ asserting that it has remained a bastion of secularism for a remarkable 5,000 years. Bhagwat’s remarks came during an event commemorating the launch of a book titled ‘Prithvi Sookta – An Ode To Mother Earth,’ written by senior RSS functionary Ranga Hari.

Addressing the audience, Bhagwat called upon the people of India to unite and exemplify the highest standards of human behavior before the global community. He implored individuals to hold a deep sense of devotion, love, and dedication towards their motherland, emphasizing the crucial role of the motherland in national unity.

“Our 5,000-year-old culture is inherently secular, a conclusion derived from profound ‘tatva gyan’ (knowledge of elements). The belief that the entire world is one family is ingrained in our ethos. It’s not merely a theory; it’s a profound truth that we must internalize and reflect in our actions,” stated the RSS chief.

In a country characterized by remarkable diversity, Bhagwat urged against internal conflicts and called upon the nation to equip itself to teach the world the invaluable lesson of unity. He emphasized that India’s fundamental purpose is to contribute to global harmony.

Bhagwat highlighted the pivotal role of the seers who shaped ‘Bharat’ for the betterment of humanity. These revered figures established a society that ensured the transmission of knowledge to every individual within the country. Bhagwat underlined their diverse roles, mentioning that many of them led lives as family-oriented wanderers, and their descendants continue to contribute to society, often sharing ancient ayurvedic wisdom.

“Our people traversed the globe, disseminating knowledge from Mexico to Siberia,” Bhagwat added. He acknowledged that this rich heritage allowed India to transform the G20, originally an economic forum, into a platform that contemplates issues of human significance, thanks to the philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ – the world is one family.

Speaking at the event, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan emphasized that unity stands as India’s most prominent ideal.

In a world grappling with challenges, Bhagwat’s words highlight India’s enduring commitment to secularism and unity, drawing upon its ancient wisdom and cultural richness.
