Starting March 2, economic and social networking services in the rail sector will open between Kosi and Seemanchal. People from Kosi and Seemanchal will once again be connected through a rail network. From March 2 onwards, an Express train between Saharsa-Forbesganj-Jogbani will run on a new track. The Railway Board has signaled the green light to operate an Express train from the new Saharsa-Forbesganj-Jogbani route, connecting to Patliputra via Saraygarh, while originating from Jogbani-Farbisganj-Saraygarh route. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate various crucial projects, including rail services, during his visit to Begusarai on March 2.
Saharsa-Farbisganj-Jogbani Train Service Set to Begin
Preparations are underway to start the Saharsa-Farbisganj-Jogbani broad gauge train service at Saharsa Junction after nearly 17 years of changes following the Aman Parivartan initiative. The local population is enthusiastic about witnessing this historic moment. The Railway Board has released the timetable for the initial phase with the operation of a single Express train. Saharsa-Farbisganj covers a 112-kilometer rail stretch, which was already completed as part of the Aman Parivartan initiative.
Train from Saharsa to Lalitgram in Operation
Currently, a passenger train operates between Saharsa and Lalitgram. Despite the completion of the construction work between Farbisganj and Saraygarh after the CRS, train operations between Lalitgram and Farbisganj have not commenced due to incomplete construction. It’s worth noting that the rail networking service between Raghopur and Farbisganj came to a halt in 2008 due to destructive floods.
Train Departure from Saharsa Junction
The Saharsa-Jogbani Express train will be flagged off with a green signal from Saharsa Junction. According to railway officials, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the train through a video conference from Begusarai. The program will witness the presence of Principal Chief Engineer Amit Garg from East Central Railway and Alok Jha, ADRM 2 of the Samastipur Division, along with Senior DAA 3. ADRM 2 has been appointed as the nodal officer for the program. Officials from the Samastipur Division have already begun preparations for the program at Saharsa Junction since Thursday evening.
Rack Arrives at Saharsa Junction
A new rack has reached Saharsa Junction for the operation of the Saharsa-Jogbani Express train. This train, upon operation, will change its number upon reaching Jogbani and then proceed to Farbisganj, Saraygarh, Raghopur, Lalitgram, Narpateganj, and finally, Jogbani. On the return journey, the train will go from Jogbani to Patliputra via Farbisganj.
Expansion of Lalitgram Train Service to Farbisganj
After the commencement of the Saharsa-Farbisganj-Jogbani rail line, the current Saharsa to Lalitgram passenger train service will extend to Farbisganj. Prime Minister Modi, through video conference from Begusarai, will flag off the Saharsa-Jogbani Mail Express train by displaying a green signal. LED lights are being installed at Saharsa Junction for this purpose, and a two-way communication system will be added for the convenience of passengers. The Prime Minister will be able to watch and listen to the live program at Saharsa Junction through video conferencing.
Saharsa-Farbisganj-Jogbani Mail Express
This train will travel daily from Saharsa to Jogbani, stopping at Supaul, Saraygarh, Raghopur, Lalitgram, Narpateganj, and Farbisganj stations. Additionally, the train will cover a distance of 124 kilometers in Saharsa-Supaul and Araria districts. With the initiation of this train, the long-standing demand of Kosi region commuters for direct rail service will be fulfilled. The people of this region will now have direct rail service to Farbisganj-Jogbani. This development will be beneficial for the economic and social development of the region.
Danapur-Jogbani Danapur Mail Express
This train will depart daily from Danapur and reach Jogbani, stopping at Patliputra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Sakri, Jhanjharpur, Nirmali, Saraygarh, Raghopur, Lalitgram, and Narpateganj. The train will cover a total distance of 332 kilometers in Patna, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Saharsa, Supaul, and Araria districts. The commencement of this train will fulfill the long-standing demand of Jogbani region commuters for direct rail service, providing them with a direct rail connection to Bihar’s capital via Mithilanchal and Kosi.
