Mumbai: In a surprising move, Bollywood icon Akshay Kumar has delved into cricket administration by unveiling himself as the proud owner of the Srinagar team in the upcoming Indian Street Premier League (ISPL). The revelation came through an Instagram post, where Akshay invited aspiring cricketers to register for a chance to play for his team in the unique T10 tennis-ball league.

“From the cinema to the stadium! Proud to announce that I will be coming to @ispl_t10 as a Team Owner of Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir). A chance to play in my team awaits. Register now,” shared Akshay on Instagram, accompanied by a promotional video featuring former India batter and coach Ravi Shastri.

The ISPL is set to make history as the first tennis-ball tournament played inside a stadium. The league will feature six teams – Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Srinagar. Scheduled to commence on March 2 next year, the tournament will host 19 matches, all to be played in Mumbai.

This move by Akshay Kumar adds a new dimension to the Indian cricketing landscape, bringing Bollywood glamour to the field of cricket administration. As the countdown to the ISPL begins, anticipation grows for the exciting blend of entertainment and sports.
