In an exhilarating T20 encounter at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi, the West Indies women’s cricket team clinched a nail-biting victory against Pakistan, winning by a solitary run on the final ball of the match.

Pakistan appeared on course to chase down the target of 123 runs with relative ease. However, a sudden collapse in the middle overs allowed the West Indies to seize the momentum and turn the tide in their favor.

Despite a promising start, Pakistan faltered as wickets fell at regular intervals. The arrival of Nida Dar steadied the ship, as she valiantly led the fightback alongside Muneeba Ali and Aliya Riaz. Yet, a devastating spell by Karishma Ramharack tilted the scales in favor of the visitors, leaving Pakistan reeling at 104-5.

Despite a spirited effort from youngsters Najiha Alvi and Tuba Hassan, Pakistan fell agonizingly short of the target, needing two runs off the final delivery. A desperate attempt to steal a single ended in a run-out, sealing victory for the West Indies.

Ramharack was the hero for the West Indies with a sensational four-wicket haul, while Joseph, Matthews, and Fletcher provided crucial breakthroughs.

Earlier in the match, the West Indies struggled after losing captain Hayley Matthews early in the innings. Despite valiant efforts from Qiana Joseph and Stafanie Taylor, they were restricted to 122-9.

Pakistan’s bowling attack, led by Fatima Sana and supported by Sadia Iqbal, Diana Baig, Nida Dar, and Tuba Hassan, put up a commendable performance, limiting the West Indies to a modest total.

In a thrilling contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats, the West Indies emerged victorious, showcasing their resilience and determination in the face of adversity.

Brief Scores:

West Indies: 122-9 in 20 overs (Qiana Joseph 34, Stafanie Taylor 30; Fatima Sana 3-24)

Pakistan: 121-8 in 20 overs (Nida Dar 27, Sidra Ameen 23; Karishma Ramharack 4-15)
